Thisbe at the Sewing Machine

Last night Thisbe joined in "A night of Journals" and made her very own notebook. If you are not aware Thisbe is a writer. She is always making books, list, or designing clothing for her stuffed animals. So she was excited to put a notebook together in new way.

This was Thisbe's first time at the sewing machine all by herself. She is sewing fabric on to cardstock for her new notebook.

Egg Hunt Mad-House

On Saturday we took the Kiddies to a community Easter Egg Hunt. It could have gone well if there was better planning for plan B (in case of bad weather). The egg hunt was held indoors at a school. There were so many people that you could not walk around. Not at all!! It must have been a fire hazard. When the kids (in Magnus' age group) finally got to start hunting for eggs it wasn't a hunt at all. There were so many eggs hidden in a small area that they were in piles of 10-20 eggs just sitting all over the floor. So you got to your place and 1-2-3 Go. You picked up you pile and after a few seconds it was over. Thisbe's age group was a different story. They let only the kids 7-12 in a room (no Parents)lined them up along the wall and said 1-2-3 Go. Again there were piles of eggs scattered around the floor and on tables so it was over fast. But with Thisbe's age group the competition was much more intense.. There were kids running, pushing, and fighting over eggs. The worst part was the parents rooting them on from the hallway. It was so fast and intense that Thisbe only escaped with a single egg.

Crazy! I don't thing we'll do that again.

I can't say it was all a loss. Magnus did get to see the Easter Bunny and have his face painted.

By the time we were able to escape the crowds all Thisbe had to say was "Can we go now!!"

They did end up having a lot of fun with the eggs they brought home. They had many Egg hunts that night in our living room.

Alki Beach

I have lived in this area for most of my life and I had never been to Alki before. I dont think we went on the best day (too much cold and rain) but we had a good time anyway.

Flowers for Mom

We have been enjoying the warmer spring weather. The Kiddies actually get to go out and play in the backyard. Today they surprised me with these lovely flowers.

I remember picking these as a child and thinking they were beautiful. Now I am embarrassed, as they show the condition of my yard. To the kiddies however they are thrilled to have a never ending supply of them.

Fun in the pool

The Kiddies have been enjoying swim lessons. Thisbe has really improved her stroke and can swim the full length of the pool now. Magnus has made a tremendous improvement. When we started this a few months ago, he wouldn't put his face in the water. Now he's swimming on his back and front. And as for putting his face under the water... that is where it always is. He is constantly diving to the bottom and "looking for shells", (Yes he thinks he's a merman!)

This is Magnus posing as a Merman (Just so you know he is not a mermaid anymore)
