last sale of the year

thisbe’s bakery had its 7th sale tonight. this was her final sale of the year. she set out to sell some yummy chocolate chip and sugar cookie surprise cookies. even with the stiff competition of free dessert, she made a $10 profit. this took her total sales for the year to $43.33. all this will be donated to charity.

on display are her advertisement signs from the year.

Thisbe’s Cooking

I kind of mentioned it before, Thisbe has started a business called Thisbe’s Bakery. She sells her baked goods at school and the money will be used to support the LDS General Humanitarian Fund. I have also already mentioned that my camera has broken so I haven’t been taking many pictures of her. She has had 3 bake sales already and has sold all her good each time. With this last sale she actually exceeded the initial $20 donation I contributed to get her business up and running. She has to plan when to have a sale, what she is going to bake, what ingredients she needs to buy, when to bake (many things can be prepared in advance), and when and where to advertise. She also takes care of all the money and the keeping of a log. I really just sit back and watch, with the occasional question to get her focused, I also oversee the kitchen work as needed. It is fun to watch her in action at a sale.
She has another sale tomorrow, cupcakes and cocoa krispie treats. I’ll try and remember the camera.

Christmas Piano Recital

Thisbe and Magnus had their Christmas Recital this past weekend. This was Magnus’ first recital.

Magnus Played: Up on the House Top and Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.

Thisbe Played: Deck the Halls and Silent Night.

You’ll have to forgive my hack job on their eyes. I had trouble with photoshop today. I hate red eyes!!

On Sunday Thisbe was baptised and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Piano Recital

Thisbe had her summer piano recital this week.

“I felt a little scared but was happy when we got ice cream afterward.”

Despite her being a little nervous she did great. I am very impressed by how fast she is learning the piano and how brave she was to play in front of all those people.
